We have all felt the pain and exasperation resulting from the outrageous increases in gasoline prices this past year. There has been little choice but to either resort to alternative sources of transportation, (trains, bikes, walking, etc.), or to stay at home.
Thursday October 2nd 2008 is the last day that Bentley will ever carry the name of "college". In a press release today, the school explained that the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education approved the change to the name Bentley University. The change became effective on Thursday.
With the countless bingo events at Bentley, there is no doubt most have had the chance at some pretty great prizes- gift cards, money, even a freshman parking pass- but it's rare that we have the chance to play for a new club banner or event volunteers. This past Thursday, at CLUB Bingo, the Vanguard offered unique prizes that ranged from a box of business cards to a blackboard website.

When it comes down to what you pay for at Bentley everything it seems is itemized clearly and for the most part a tangible good is given in return. Room and board gives you a warm place to sleep and a meal every day. The technology fee gives you a new laptop and the student activity fee gives you great campus events like Spring Day and other fun events.

The Bentley Women's Rugby team hosted Wheaton last weekend and while it was not pretty it was still a win. The team was coming off a dominating game over Tufts in which the A-side won 34-5 and came into the game looking for another dominating win. Instead they received an effort from a tireless Wheaton Squad that played hard to the last whistle.
So you're sitting in your high school or college history class learning about the stock market crash of 1929, or JFK's assassination, or the first man to walk on the moon, or even the crash of 1987, and you start to drift off and think about what your kids are going to learn about in their US history classes.
